    Wrapping Up Project 1

Project 1 is nearing completion, and this week I’ve been focused on the final touches. One of my key tasks has been ensuring accessibility and SEO best practices by adding alt descriptors to all images and pages. This step is crucial in making the site more user-friendly and improving search engine visibility. Attention to these small details helps create a polished final product that meets both client expectations and industry standards.

    Progress on Project 2

A significant breakthrough for Project 2 was discovering the perfect WordPress theme. Finding the right theme is a game-changer, as it provides a strong foundation for the website’s design and functionality. With this decision made, we can now shift our focus to customization, ensuring that the theme aligns with the client’s brand and specific needs.

    Ongoing Discussions for Project 3

Meanwhile, Project 3 is still in the planning phase when it comes to choosing a theme. We are weighing different options, considering factors such as design flexibility, performance, and compatibility with required features. Selecting the right theme is an important step, as it will dictate the direction of the development process.

    New Website Projects Progress

In addition to website maintenance, I am currently working on three new website projects. Each project has its own set of requirements, timelines, and challenges, making it a dynamic and engaging experience. This week, I focused on:

    • Project 1: Finalizing the website structure and ensuring the design aligns with client expectations.
    • Project 2 & 3: Deciding on website theme and reviewing with team members.

Balancing multiple projects requires strong time management and organization. I’ve been using project management tools to keep track of tasks and deadlines, ensuring steady progress across all three websites.

    Key Takeaways from the Week

This week has reinforced the importance of flexibility and effective communication in web development. Client requests can come in unexpectedly, and being able to pivot while staying on track with long-term projects is crucial. I’ve also found that documenting my progress and setting daily priorities helps me stay focused and productive.

  • Week 2

As I wrap up my second week of my internship class, I’ve had another busy and productive week at work. Being a full-time web developer for me means juggling multiple responsibilities, and this week was no exception. My main tasks involved maintaining existing client websites, implementing changes on a case-by-case basis, and continuing development on three new website projects simultaneously.

    Website Maintenance and Client Updates

One of the core parts of my job is ensuring that our existing client websites run smoothly. This week, I worked on routine maintenance, including software updates, performance optimization, and troubleshooting any issues that arose. I also handled several client requests, which ranged from minor content updates to functionality enhancements. Every client has unique needs, so I had to be adaptable and problem-solve efficiently to meet their expectations.

  • Week 1

Although I am in my first week of the internship class, I have been working as a Web Developer for 3 years now. So far, I have learned about resumes, cover letters, having a professional LinkedIn, and presenting yourself professionally online. The response from the student services was a great help on my resume and cover letter. I have had a great time in this class and I hope to finish strong. Thanks for reading!
